Here’s to you, Quidco members. With your help, we raised exactly £8430.43 for The Trussell Trust, a national network of food banks. Thank you.

Over the last weekend, we ran an initiative where we’d donate 5% of all orders at Deliveroo and Just Eat to The Trussell Trust. Not only would the money go to a good cause, but it helped lots of independent hospitality businesses — restaurants, cafes, bars — who are currently struggling due to people self-isolating.

Many of these businesses are turning to Deliveroo and Just Eat to keep selling to their loyal customers. Using these delivery services is a great way to carry on supporting local businesses through these strange times.

Britain’s love of independent eateries and hospitality businesses is partly what makes the country great. They come in all shapes and sizes, offering cuisines and experiences from all over the world. They’re a huge part of British culture, and they help make the streets of this country so unique and appealing.

Although these eateries are now closed to public walk-ins, some of them still have their kitchens open, and you can still support them by ordering a delivery.

That’s not to forget the money raised for The Trussell Trust.

The Trussell Trust is doing extremely important work in their efforts to stop hunger across the country. Their national network of foodbanks is now more important than ever. As foodbanks can run low during uncertain times, donating to charities like The Trussell Trust is essential to ensure that everybody in society is supported.

Kate from The Trussell Trust said this:

'More and more people are being forced to food banks because there’s nowhere else for them to turn. Last year the food banks in our network provided 1.6 million three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis and over 500,000 of these went to children.

'This was an increase of almost 20% on the previous year. And, as the Coronavirus outbreak develops, more people than ever could need our help. Your generous support means food banks will be able to continue to provide the lifeline of emergency food to people in crisis.

'We really cannot thank Quidco customers enough for their support.

'On behalf of the Trussell Trust, the network of food banks and everyone who uses food banks – a huge thank you for your support.'
